  • Parent Book Club is happening! The book we will be reading next is called 'How to Raise Kids Who Aren't Assholes: science-based strategies for better parenting from teens to tots by Melinda Wenner Moyer.  We will be meeting at the school to discuss on Thursday, March 6th from 6:00-7:30 pm. There will be tea and snacks and a loosely facilitated conversation by fellow parent Adam Meyer and Kirsten. To join the book club, so we know how many copies of the book to get, click this link.

  • Info Night for new families (elementary & middle school) happened Feb. 6. If missed or still interested, please speak to Nick.

  • Exciting baby news! Sarah has welcomed her little one in December 👶. Congratulations 🎉 Sarah!!!. Nadine is stepping in to cover the middle school class this semester.

🏡 Events & Activities

🎉 Big thanks to Jodi for organizing December’s Staff Appreciation Lunch and to all the parents who contributed!

🛒 Grocery Cards – Terisa is leading the charge, with Sarah helping as needed. Exploring an easier sign-up system!

📌REMINDER: BUY GROCERY CARDS!!

This is a simple and hassle-free way to support our school, and it doesn’t cost you anything extra.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Order your grocery cards from Kootenay Coop or Save on Foods through the link provided. You can choose to have them delivered monthly or place a one-time order.

  2. Payment is easyTerisa Tee will send an email the week of delivery with the total amount due, and all you need to do is e-transfer your payment.

  3. Pick up your cards – Once your payment is received, Terisa will confirm that you can pick up your cards from Anne at the office, or if it's more convenient, your child can collect them for you!

These cards work just like cash, and best of all, they never expire! Plus, Kootenay Coop makes it even easier by allowing you to link your card to your account at customer service—so you won’t ever have to worry about losing them.

🎁 Holiday Fundraiser & Treasure Shop – Huge appreciation for Marika & Tovah for making the holiday fundraiser happen, and to Emily and all parent volunteers for organizing the Treasure shop!

🏞️ Playground & Field Committee – We need more parent involvement to help with planning. Kristi and Sarah are on board, with Lindsay, Kim, and Emily possibly joining. If you can help, please reach out! This will help our kids have a beautiful, functional and less messy (mud on the soccer field), so our kids can play! Your contributions to this committee will be felt by all students

🌱 Garden Class Reps – Lists will be organized next month to get ready for spring.

🎭 Family Fun Night – Mark your calendars! May 1st is the date, and Marika is organizing. We’ll need plenty of volunteers—sign-up forms coming soon!

🍔 Year-End BBQ – Jenna is organizing (again—thank you!). We’ll order burgers & hot dogs, and families will contribute potluck-style for sides and desserts. Set for May 29th!

Got an idea for an event or fundraiser? We’d love to hear it!
